 The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is part of “Team Coast Guard” acting as a volunteer Force Multiplier performing a variety of mission areas including Vessel Safety Checks, Public Education, Marine Dealer Visitation, Public Affairs, Marine Safety, Publications, Information systems, Member Training, Operations, Communications Services, Human Resources, Operations, Communications, Navigation Systems and others. The Coast Guard Auxiliary is a volunteer organization of dedicated people interested in serving the Coast Guard and the public by providing Safe Boating Classes, Vessel Inspections, Search and Rescue and assistance to the Coast Guard as needed.  Our Core Values are those of Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty.
 To become a member, one has to be 17 years of age or older with no felony convictions. We perform all duties of the U.S. Coast Guard except Law Enforcement and Combat. Our organization also includes a National University program that provides for instruction and training at a variety of Universities across the U.S.  Command and Control watch stander school

Division 6 is the "Peninsula" Division of Sector Virginia in the 5th District Southern Region.  We include four Flotillas including: 

Flotilla 61 Hampton

* Flotilla 63 Poquoson

* Flotilla 66 Mathews

* Flotilla 67 Williamsburg
